I found the info Cardaft was talking about regarding VIN numbers, so here it is:

or a passer by to look in your window and write it down as they pass :rolleyes: those that need to usually can and have their ways anyway

For some vins it even shows installed options.

There isnt actually much to a vin
The VSSZZZ bit doesnt mean anything
Next 3 digits specify model eg Mk2 Leon is 1PZ
Next digit specigies year eg 9 is 2009
Next digit specifies factory eg R is Martorell
Last 6 digits are unique to that vehicle and holds the factory spec when put into the dealer system
