well well, more power from 170 tdi engine.
"The basis for the engine is the 170 hp 2.0 mounted on the León FR"
Interesting to see how they get past the DPF, probably remove the thing.

erm yeah

contrary to what the PR will say, thinking your PD170 is much like a S2000D car is quite comedy....

280 bhp for all of about 1000 miles then BANG, oh and it'd probably cost £200,000 to get it there and about £25000 every 200 miles to maintain it.

its the fact that several petrol owners on here say you cant get anything more out of the poor relation Diesel FR, without it going up in flames.I wouldn't dream my car would be anything like a WTTC , its the fact that the 2.0 Tdi engine can be tuned above its road going means.
200 + isnt just tfsi/cupra brigade power.

500 miles is the maximum life time in a Leon WTCC petrol engine. Then they go back to the factory and will be rebuild.

You can not buy the WTCC engine for your Leon race car. Only rent them at Seat Sport, and they send you a new one before the 500 miles run. After the engine change you send the old back to Seat. The engine is sealed and it is not legal to open it :)

The VAG group are really starting to push diesels in motor sport, it's good to see a varied array of cars out there on the track.

The Audi diesel R10 has been outright winner of the 24 le mans race for the last 2 years. The car does have 650bhp and 811lb/ft of torque so it's a bit quick, sadly it's a 5.5l engine so a little bit big to crow bar into a FR ;)
