It's nothing to do with the side that the steering wheel is on. It depends on the spec of the car.

If you order the optional bluetooth pack or sat nav you get the larger display as in the RHD picture, the other display with the larger temperature and petrol dials are standard on all other models.

I prefer the LHD one too but I notice one is a petrol and one a diesel. I don't suppose that makes any difference?

^^^ I don't think so. I have the large MFD on my Stylance as I have the bluetooth phone kit.

I must admit I do prefer the the look of the larger MFD

I see, I find the bluetooth display a bit too big, maybe it's just a question of getting used to it :)

I noticed this before buying my FR, but now i got it i do think i prefer the smaller display, its what i ended up with as i didnt get any options cept for paint, it was a stretch for us to get the FR anyway. i thought you got the big display with either the bluetooth option or the comfort pack option.

On another note the 17" alloys on the FR, i know you all slate them, but i have them, and i've thought of a reasonable reason to they're design. you cant ding them on a curb so easily ie, when parking, the tyre wall sticks out about 12mm further than the rim and the shape of the spoke is almost the same shape as a curbstone. Not that we have (yet, i know it'll happen at some point).

Anyway back to the dash, anyone seem the pair of them at night yet? i think i may prefer the smaller one anyway at night, less eyecatching, its a car fs not a Nintendo DS. lol

Its nice in the dark, the black numbers become white and the white background goes a very dark grey slightly illuminated to stand out from the very inner grey circle, like a negative with all the rest is the leon red illumination.

heh, i say in the dark, i was in it in the garage with the garage lights off. shhh

One annoying aspect of the larger display is that it shows
" You have exceeded 70 MPH" as soon as you nudge over 70.
You only seem to be able to get rid of it by toggling through range MPG etc.
Anyone know if you can set it to alternative speeds?
If the Speedo on the Fr is as inaccurate as my Altea it will always be showing over 70 warning when you are actually doing 70 on GPS.

Just switch if off mate, go into the speed setting and press and hold the reset button under the wiper stalk.

Cheers for that, it was on demo car so didn't want to fiddle too much.
Will remember for when new car arrives!:D

White vs black

I didnt realise before I ordered it, but my Mk1 LC had cool white dials and my Mk2 TFSi Sport has black dials. I much prefer teh white.... everyother bog-standard car has black dials :thumbd:

theyre not the best, the grey ring round the dials dosent show very well on cam, but wicked in real life, also the needles loose it a little but they are vivid and sharp imo.
