hi I was wondering if anybody knew what conditions are required before a car carries out its regen,mine has been wanting to do one I suspect for a few days but would only carry it out once the outside temp reached a positive figure I cant believe outside temp matters but just wanted to know if it did and what other conditions need to be met before a regen is carried out.

If you have an Android device download an app called VAG DPF and purchase a OBD WiFi adapter. This is how I monitor my Soot levels. My exeo usually regens every 200-220 miles once it’s reached 20g+ of soot. Once regeneration has happened my soot level drops to around 6g usually happens on a motorway run when your doing a continuous speed and lasts for around 10mins.
