I've got a 6 speed dsg box in my 66 plate Cupra and it's coming up 4 years old. I've just been looking on you tube at the DSG servicing, not specifically on Leon's, but on other VAG models and it doesnt look difficult. Main issues seem to be the cost of the DSG oil in the first place and getting the right amount in.

Anyone on here have experience of doing it? I'm handy enough with spanners, but in the current situation where many garages are doing only essential work I figured I might be able to save 100 notes or so buying a dsg service kit and doing it myself.

I've done it bud there's some stuff involved like jacking the car up on a level surface one 4 axle stands and you have to try and make sure the car is level all round, also you can buy a dsg filling kit off the Internet and buy extra oil too I used opie oils, also the dsg oil needs to be warmed up and then drained off abit it isn't hard you just need to be careful and take your time, you would need something like vcds or obdeleven to read the gearbox oil temp as it needs to be at a certain temp but it isn't as hard as it seems

I've got a OBDeleven Bluetooth thingy and Torque pro, so I would have to check if that can access the gearbox temp. I think getting it level might be my biggest issue

Looking at the videos on YouTube is there a pipe inside the bottom of the box above the drain plug, which also comes out to drain the box, but is left in when you fill, so that it drains to the correct level and anything above that would drain out naturally?

Not sure if the above is correct but that's what I've taken from a couple of videos I've watched.
