Just wondering if anyone had managed to change their dsg gear shifter? I have a 07 Fr with the hidious selector just recently had the selector plate hydrodipped and am now looking at replacing the leather gaiter and possibly the selector. Theres a company in devon that have offered to make a gaiter for free if i send them my existing gaiter as they dont have the template for a dsg which sounds like a pretty good offer to me 
The only issue I have is removing the old one i got as far as looking at how it was all connected when i removed the gear selector plate, is it possible to remove the gaiter without having to remove the selector? As im still going to need to be able to use it whilst the gaiters away Are there any alternative dsg selectors that are a straight forward swap as mines looking a bit tired now from previous owners. Any help and advice would be appreciated
