Hi all, just been into Seat and been quoted £720 for new ecu plus labour. Obviously looking for alternative route to sort out the ecu. Any tips welcomed.

You could try getting one from the scrappy but it will need coding in, ring one of the tuners on the forum who should be able to set it up/advise on this.

Will probably try something like that . Found a company which I could send mine to for rebuild but as its all alien to me feels like I would be performing major surgery on a car when this is outside of my knowledge. Bit scary!:(

You never said what the problem with it was. I don't know if it's te same thing but the connector on my ecu was corroded and was causing limp mode issues. The contacts between the ecu and loom was cleaned up and no further problems have arose.

I can code a new ecu or second hand in no probs, but more details about the problems would be god first incase you dont need one.
