Ecu swapping?

hi.

i have been offered a swap on my ecu for my mates whos is mapped up. his engine code and mine are different as the cars are different age and also does the ecu need to be coded to the car or anything llike that..

its not goin to be as easy as just swapping them over is it?

swap them over
go into vagcom
change immobiliser code (sticky in vag-com section)

job done - takes 2mins

Does depend what 1.8t engine they come from but if it is compatible then its easy to swap if you have vag com as david said.
