Loads of people run EGR delete pipes on here mate with aparently no issues whatsoever, i personaly dont think its a good idea to remove the Anti Shudder Valve but each to there own.

Been considering it myself, but will wait for the stepper motor to pack up first! about £58.00 from allards [mine is a 170 remapped]

Anti-shudder valve and EGR are both moved by vacuum actuators. No stepper motors to be found - the EGR is on the hot side, and the anti-shudder valve is a simple on/off operation.

i have blanked off the exhaust inlet on the egr valve. This way u still have the anti shudder valve and it looks the same from the outside if you like the oem look. just make a thin gasket out of a biscuit tin lid and bolt it in.

I tried all ways to take out the EGR valve but they all fetch up a fault light.

Remove the vac line to the EGR & plug it = fault light
Blank off the feed pipe from the exhaust = fault light
Combination of the above two = fault light

I read this write-up and it looks like the best of both worlds - free flow EGR body with the anti shudder valve still working.

edit - although I'm now tempted by just the biscuit tin gasket idea, is that safe? Doesn't it get affected by the heat, what temperatures are the exhaust gases out of a PD150? :)

I have heard that people block the end near the EGR with just a gasket material plate.
If you have it blocked - there is no exhaust flow through the pipe so no heat is transfered.
