Your regulator has prob gone or it could be the switch or motor, can you hear the motor working? if so your switch and motor are ok the fault would be your regulator

Just spotted this so I thought I would pass this on.

I had both my motors go on my Polo, it always happened in the cold weather and the window just stayed closed. I bought a replacement for the first one at around £110 (I think) and fitted it myself. When the other went I loosened the motor to gearbox screws whilst still fitted to the car and it started working.

It ran all summer then stuck again in the winter. This time i unbolted it but left it connected to the power and carefully pulled the motor drive from the crank casing about half an inch and run the motor briefly to move the spindle. I put it back and it ran for another 6 years till I sold the car.

The new replacement also failed after 4 years and I did the same again. This time drilling some extra holes in the door to allow easier access to the bolts..

I think its because they always stop in the same place and wear on that rotor, by turning the motor spindle it stops in a different place.

Worth a try if your going to change them yourself anyway, might save a few quid.

Assuming they have not changed the motor when you take off the door card and look at the back of the motor you should see 4 small allen key type bolts holding the long square motor part. Using a small ext socket drive/screw driver (its fiddly) you can loosen 3 bolts a couple of turns. Then try the motor and it MAY free itself and start working.

If so re-tighten bolts but not quite as tight as before and see how it goes.

Maybe its a diff motor but the one's i took out of my polo had Seat logo's

Check you getting voltage from the motor connection plug, one of mine had corroded.

Hi,
I also have a problem with my Leon.
It's a 2016 1.4 FR.
All windows work with the switch apart from the driver window.
It goes down but keeps stopping as it goes down and once it's down it doesn't go up.
I've changed the motor but it's the same.
Can someone please help me!!
Thanks

Hi Suj999 did you get your problem sorted? And if so what was it?

Hi all,

I have a fault with rear passenger electric window it will go up and down off it’s own switch but not from the drivers switch. I’ve opened the switch up and circuit board looks also the cables that come in between drivers door and pillar seem in good condition. Can anyone help point me in the right direction?
