upgraded DRL, sidelights and number plate lights to LEDs. Now have an engine management light on. Is this a coincidence or has one of them
Triggered something. Done 120 miles in the car today without a hitch. Hopefully nothing major.

have you run a scan to see what errors are being reported.

Do you have an OBD2 Dongle for your car as there are many free apps that will as a minimum give you error codes.

Did the EML come on straight after fitting the bulbs? If so is it actually the EML and not the bulb warning light you're seeing, possibly due to canbus issue?
If definitely EML then as suggested scanning for codes is the next step.

The cars electrical system is canbus-based, what this means for LED bulbs is if you haven't fitted canbus-compatible bulbs even though the LEDs light up the car think there's a bulb out due to the much lower current draw and pings up the bulb warning light.

The solution is to either use canbus-compatible LEDs, which just really mimic normal bulbs by increasing resistance, or code the car to accept LEDs with no error using VAGCOM or similar. IIRC about the only lights that can't be coded out are the headlights.

Aw perfect. Thanks for that. I’ll maybe check the lights and change them to see what ones trigger the EML. Failing that I’ll get them coded out. Thanks for your help. Lights look great so don’t wanna take them out
