Excel Style Grid

Discussion in 'Comments, Suggestions and Announcements' started by Deleted member 103408, Jul 12, 2018.

  1. Sorry being very needy at the moment,

Would it be possible to add to the thread toolbar a Table option.

This will give you an excel style table layout with user defined number of rows/column's and the ability to have the grid shown or be hidden.

I use it a lot on other forums so that I have have a picture in one section and then next to it lots of text that explains whats going on rather than text being under the picture.

Another example of when this would be great to have.
@paddy6789 kindly provided us with service schedule, it would be nice to put that into an excel sheet on the forum rather than link or picture, you can then also start adding in more relevant information about the cars, each section nice and clear, easy to find and use.
End of me saying i want it please.

I know I am a nerd but I use the tables a lot and more and more it would be helpful for stuff i do on this site.

Appreciate this is not a high priority change but would be nice.

We are all nerds in one way or another.

This would be a good idea so I second it.

  3. and just in case it helps here is the BB Code

Example below is for a 2 column table with 2 rows, cellpadding of 3, cell spacing of 0, and a border:

    [td style="border: 1px solid #000; padding: 3px;"]Row 1 column 1[/td]
    [td style="border: 1px solid #000; padding: 3px;"]Row 1 column 2[/td]
    [td style="border: 1px solid #000; padding: 3px;"]Row 2 column 1[/td]
    [td style="border: 1px solid #000; padding: 3px;"]Row 2 column 2[/td]

    Row 1 column 1 Row 1 column 2
    Row 2 column 1 Row 2 column 2

Results dont show the correct output obviously as we dont have the code yet.
