Exhaust by Courier - Weight / Who to use / Cost

So I've tried searching Google and the forum but can't find the information I'm after...

Has anyone on the forum used a courier for delivery a full exhaust system?

I would like to know the approx weight? So I can get some quotes...

If anyone has done this before could you tell me who you used and what was the cost?

I got a quote from RoyalMail 48 via parcelmonkey came to £40 for a package weight of 25KG (my guesstimate of weight) and dimensions of 120cm X 50 cm X 35cm. Although when asked the item I put down car exhaust and it came up with a warning 'your item may be prohibited'? but car parts or exhaust isn't specifically mentioned on their list of prohibited items

Thanks

I predominantly use Interparcel but on the odd occasion I'll use Parcelhero when shipping large items or overseas as sometimes they're cheaper using the same courier services.

Shipping exhaust systems can be ballache in the sense that often they're so friggin long, especially the standard parts so regularly chop them up into smaller sections or they're just ridiculously expensive to send and overly cumbersome to package.

What exactly have you guesstimated at 25kg as that's pretty heavy?

Full exhaust downpipe to backbox... It's in x4 sections already as per the photo attached.

It's gonna be a 440 mile round trip plus 8 hours driving to go get it myself so was thinking I could save myself the drive (and fuel) by getting a courier arranged.

£48 seems very high, was that with a huge insurance add on and next day delivery or something?
