By 2026 my LCR will be nearly 22 years old, Im not sure how it could be kept compliant , I highly doubt you will get OEM parts for it by then.
Well first thing to say is this rule only seems to apply to new cars (hence all the moans from new owners about how quiet the car is) Secondly it says it is illegal to modify the exhaust system of a vehicle to make it noisier than the level recorded for that model at type approval. so as we have old cars not a problem but does this mean all the guys with the shiny new Cupra's and upgraded exhaust are now breaking the law.... @Legojon have you tried doing a noise test with a phone app, I did mine and it came in fairly close to what they picked up on a track day check.
That's what I wondered. Oooo, I might get someone to stand at the side of the road. Although my parents are ancient and near deaf and they can hear my car from about 0.5 miles away.
Rules are a bit different for bikes ,,,which is mainly where my experiance is, cos cars have never been as loud as bikes... Anyhow...bit of info ramble 1934. Speed limits introduced. 1935. And just so you know you should have enough post's to the for sale section now if you want to use it.
Seastormer....umm mebe wierd but you pick the same model car and are into bike Don't want to divert the thread but bikes are a big part of my time... I to got on the road in 1977.... but I started Scrambling in 72.... which is the old word for moto-X for you yung-uns
Lots of old memeries on that list. and a lot of members on this site are also into bikes, do you have a bike at the moment, and if so what is it?
Stormer ...Oh yes I still have bikes.... if you ever sell your last one you never get another...cos life gets in the way.... I'm very fortunate that I've managed to keep most of my toys ...some even live in the house
That looks really cool, wish I had a space for mine in the house but too much other junk already. Mine lives in a lock up I own about a mile and a half away, along with my push bike collection (which never get used now) 5 mins in the car is fine but.
After market exhausts dont have to be loud, you just tend to have to go for a custom unit rather than an off the shelf type. I used to have a Rover 420 GSI Turbo which had a bucket of an exhaust when I got it. OEM ones simply didnt exist, neither did pattern parts, because only 250 of the cars were ever made. The only option was go custom, or cut and shut a 220 turbo exhaust.
