Madduffy, I think I must have got lucky and had my car loaded onto the ship a couple of days after being built. Bloody annoying that I'm working until 4pm on Saturday :(

Oh Dear, that sudden illness has really crept up on you on saturday hasn't it.

You should finish work early and go home and rest ;-)

I think most of us here would happily phone your work and say you were ill lol! :D

I realised I made a right **** up today with my car....I ordered the upgraded seats thinking they were the ones I liked. But only did I realise today that in fact it's not the alacantara seats I liked, but actually the standard ones :( fail lol!

Who's a silly boy then!! lol!! I have had Alcantara seats in my last golf and they are very nice though!! Currently have heated leather in my current Golf but to be honest the regular seats are good. Seats are seats as long as they support properly and are comfortable. Just find the leather cold in winter before the heaters get going and hot in summer when there is nothing that you can do!! lol!!
I think I would be doing anything other than work if my car was due!!

That Saturdays isn't half going to drag ;) lol

Update: There's good news and bad news - first the bad - I've still got to work Saturday.

The good news - the dealer called me at work this morning and said they had got the car ready for me to pick up today!

So I finished work at 4pm, mad dash back to my house to empty all the crap out of my 10yr old Astra Coupe and pick up the spare set of keys (I was trading it in) and then back to the dealer before the salesperson who I'd been dealing with finished for the day at 5pm.

Arrived at 4.55pm, though he was happy to stay on well beyond his home-time ;)

Anyway, I'm glad I stuck with my original colour choice of Monsoon Grey - it looked even better than I had hoped (given the fact I had not seen an SC in that colour in the flesh). The salesperson (and the business manager) both mentioned to me the number of people who had commented on the colour whilst it was sitting outside waiting for me to collect today.

I'll get some pics uploaded over the weekend - I've still got to work tomorrow, but I'm going to spend the rest of the weekend being a Sunday driver..... in Sport Mode ;)

Mine is going to be built in the following days, so I am wondering if there's a way to understand when it is ready and when it will leave the factory. How do you know that details? Can dealers check that in the software? I am under the impression the dealer here is only capable of seeing the build week only and nothing else.

Mines being built next week (week 40), the dealer told me they will get the chassis number when the car is at port (not sure if in Spain or UK though). You'll have the get the dealer to check the order system. I'm not sure if they get any updates after that but I guess they should know when delivery to the them is.

As soon as the car is built, the chassis number gets put into SEAT's system - at that point the dealer can see that the car has been made and the date it appears in the system is basically the date it was built. They can also see if it has left the factory and in transit. I'm not sure whether they can see if it's on a ship - my next update was that it had arrived in the UK.

Swahealy: yes it was a bit of a school boy error that one lol! I couldn't help but pop into the dealers yesterday to see what the seats I'd ordered actually looked like.....luckily I liked them :D

James: how's the new car?? You had it out of sports mode yet?? ;) lol I'm looking forward to seeing some photos!

Spoke to my dealer on Wednesday and he said it was in transit, sounds like I need to pester him for the ship name now :D lol

I've only done about 40 miles in it so far (I've been working today). Going for a big one tomorrow.... ;)

Can you upload photos on here? Last time I tried, it didn't work!

I think the easiest way is to upload them to photobucket then just post the URL on here :)

Sounds like everything went better than expected with yours James :) I'll aim for the end of October and if it arrives sooner then I'll take it as a bonus! :D

Madduffyx, don't know if this helps but mine was due to be built last week as we'll, had a call from dealer today to say that it arrived at Barcelona Port last Friday. He said that there was no reason why I shouldn't have it in October and once it had been allocated a ship he would give me a web address and I could track it

Can't wait now as been without a car for 4 weeks

On order 1.8 Tsi FR manual, Black, 18" wheels, Seat Sound System, Led light pack, Convenience pack, Driver assist, Spare wheel

Hey Lawto! Sounds very familiar to what my dealer said. I phoned last Thursday and he said it was in transit from the factory to the port. So I'm guessing it arrived there on Friday and it's very likely that our car's will be on the same ship :D If you could let me know what your dealer says then that would be great!
