Fast idle in the cold weather - is it just me?

If it's not doing a regen then It's to do with heating temp demand vs engine coolant temp.

If the engine isn't up to temp and you select a heating temp higher than it can cope with it will tick over at about 900rpm if you turn the heating temp down and blip the throttle it will return to about 750.

I'm told that if you turn loads of stuff on and draw a lot of current from the battery it can tick over fast to give the alternator a chance to top the battery up. Personally I haven't seen mine do this yet.
