fast idle 'throttle freeplay'???

basically my car is idling at around 1200rpm all the time.

i have checked the cold start sensor and it isnt that, then the other day i caught my foot under the throtte pedal and the revs dropped?? i then revved the car a few times and idle back up to 1200rpm.

so hooked foot under and lifted underside of throttle pedal and idle drops again?

its like there is no freeplay on throttle (even though i realise its electronic)

so im wondering if you need to re-align the throttle pedal or is it a vag com throttle body alignment job? would this drop the idle?

Clean and re-set the throttle body info in the sticky on the re-set.
