Correct, flick one Togo up and the other to go down a gear. If you want to change down to overtake you actually need to accelerate otherwise the box thinks you are slowing down and the change will feel laboured.

If you flick the paddles the gear change goes from auto to manual. If you continue to drive with no more manual changes with the paddles the box reverts back to auto.

Ahh I see, so you prefer DSG to manual then?

The Cupra likes 98 RON or higher (ie. Super Unleaded). I use Tesco Momentum as I’ve got 2 superstores near me. It’s quite happy with 97 RON and it’ll chug along on ‘normal’ unleaded if you get stuck, but you’ll lose a bit of performance and I would only use it as a last resort to get you home..!!

What are the cupras genuinely like on 'normal' fuel? I'm seriously considering upgrading to one in the future but I have a company fuel card and cannot put premium fuels in (if I was paying personally I'd have no hesitation). I still only ever use bp or shell normally in my fr but not ultimate or v power.

Ahh I see, so you prefer DSG to manual?

DSG is great for normal commute and Manual is great for those days when you fancy a real blast.

I tend to use a mix of both modes and to be honest I’ve never driven a Manual box since I got my Cupra... why drive anything else lol. I’m too happy driving my own car
