    Hello

Today I removed the front grille so it could be painted gloss black (was red when bought) it came out very easily but when I refitted it it is no longer sitting flush at the bottom. Have I fitted it incorrectly? Is my question I have done it 4 times now same result each 1.

    Please go easy on me

    Did it clip right in?

Take a picture might just not be right in the clips. Mines came out
    And back in fine.

    Hi Ray
I have sorted it the lower clips where above the slot rather than in.

My next part is does anyone know if the cupra grille is any different fit to fr? Seen some on fleebay but they said it's different?

    Thanks

I don’t think it’s different tbh, why anyway? I just painted mine gloss black along with the fog cover inserts, has the same black theme like a FL cupra. :)

When I bought it it was sprayed red with black under stone chips and chunks out then I have sanded it down and sprayed it but it's not very good to look at or as I say good from far but far from good lol

This is how mine sits, everything original just some changes of paint. :)

Looks nice I love the white 1s I must admit here is mine red grille when bought black sprayed. I may just go back to the original chrome surround I don't want an aftermarket 1 and 3 dealers said the cupra gloss black 1s won't fit.[IMG][IMG]

That looks totally fine mate, if your paintwork isn’t so good just do it again until you get it right. Far better than the red!!

I want to take mine off and de-chrome at some point - I believe the grille is different between facelift and non-facelift?

Are they a pain to remove?

Sorry just seen this it was a doddle to get off just pop the clips out of the sides pull the top towards you and slide the bottom clips out. I found it harder to fit back in properly lol
