Hi ,

Just been looking at these some audi reps rs4 style black with silver polished faces. I cant post a link yet as I have not made 15 posts yet.

Any one know what the biggest tire size I should stick to 225 or 235 to make the wheels look good. Do you think these would suit my altea (I have a tinta black version).

RS4's

I've got a Seat Toledo 2LTDI Sport, sat on set of 18" RS4's - basically an Altea
I kept the tires standard width and profile 225/40 but went up an inch. This hasn't affected the ride at all. But with the bigger wheels on the car didn't sit right, just looked a little odd.
Last weekend I lowered it 30mm on a set off PI springs(well the garage did). The car now looks the part and sits right, plus doesn't look like its been chavved up as the drop wasn't too significant. Plus the ride isn't really noticeablly any harder.

Just remember to be careful with what offset wheel you get as that will determine what width of tyre you can run without rubbing. I run 19s on my car (Octavia but just changed from a Scirocco) with a 235/35 tyre with no issues but the offset pushes the wheels a few mm further out than the standard wheels.

Would like to see a picture of the wheels you are talking about, sound similar in colour to mine. I have OEM Audi/BBS wheels, 5 spoke and anthracite with a polished face. I personally love the colour combination of my car which is white.

Only other thing I would say is make sure they are a good replica. Some can be poor quality or heavy hence I went for originals.

Can't work out how to post an image but you can see mine at the below page (I'm a member of a few VAG related forums :D).

The wheels I am looking at are like the following :

.audi-wheels.co.uk/alloy-wheels/audi-style-alloy-wheels-1131-18.php?awusid=86880368573_299315133[/url]

Your link didnt work for me well it asks me to join another forum!

Whatever you do avoid the budget tyres! Remember it's a very small contact area you have between the tyre and tarmac that keeps you on the road. Don't have to pay hundreds per tyre, just avoid the chinese / unbranded junk. Nothing wrong with Falken, Kumho, Hankook etc for everyday use.

Very different in style from what I have although the colour combination is similar.

Hopefully one of these work:

The wheels and car look great Daz. Dont worry Ive had a few motors in my time with alloys now and I have never had anything less than a falken or khumo tire on them.

here is a quick selection of motors I have had in the past :

Always had either german or Jap and want my altea (although a more practical motor) to still look the part!

Thanks. I always stick to VAG cars now, although had a Corolla T-Sport not too long ago. I've had to go for something more practical now - hence an Octavia to replace the Scirocco.

If you like the wheels enough, feel free to buy them from me :D Original Audi 19s manufactured by BBS with Kumho tyres ;)

I've got three sets of wheels now - the 19s in the photos, standard 18s on the car and I just bought some 17s for winter tyres. Ideally I would have put winter tyres on the 18s and keep the 19s for summer but winter tyres are rare and cost a fortune for 18s. The 17s are currently sitting in the dining room which isn't going down too well with the girlfriend! lol. Unfortunately the 19s will need to find a new home :(

As nice as the wheels are I recon you would want a good price for them and replacing thinse tires would cost a bomb! I think Im just gonna stick to getting some 18" even though I know 19" would look awesome!

No problem. Tyres were actually cheaper than I expected, around £80 if my memory serves me correctly.

The wheels cost £2000 new without tyres. Yours for £795 delivered including tyres (6-7mm tread)

You'd pay around that for 18" replicas with mid range tyres :p

No problem. Let me know if you change your mind :)

Will need to list them on here but think I need 15 posts first. Got them on the Scirocco forum but that's a very limited market. I grudge paying the fees that ebay want. Worst case is I put them back on my car in summer and turn the 17s into a coffee table for a few months! lol

I have heard that 19" on an altea give you a harsh ride unless Im mistaken? Where are you based though in case I change my mind ?
