Fitting Day time lights (LED`s) problem

Hi all, I have bought some day time LED lights to fit to my Tolly, after having a good look around I am not sure what is the best way to wire them up, so if anyone else has any info would be greatly appreciated. Cant see an easy way to pass wires into the car cabin, or pick up an ignition on feed under the bonnet.
Cheers, tatepie

If they're not particularly high powered, you could piggy back them on to the cigarette lighter? It's quite easy to get into the centre console and get to the wiring. That's what I'm planning to do with the footwell LED's I have.

Hi Slimy, picking a power source up is not to much of a problem, its getting the wires through the bulk head into the engine compartment that is, looked all over but cant see an easy way through.

On mine there were two small holes in the bulkhead. I had to pull a fair amount of the insulation matting back from the bulkhead, and the holes are behind the glovebox area. It was fairly tricky getting a wire through, but eventually I managed to get 1 through, then pulled all my other cables through.

NIce one, I will have a look today. Did you have to remove the glove box?

No, I managed to reach up and pull the wire through. It was up and to the right under the glovebox area. Probably between the glovebox/centre console section. If I remember, there was a rubber grommit in one and the smaller one was open. I had to drill a hole as well as I had to feed more wires through, and used a piece of round conduit through the hole.

Cheers for your info, after having a battle with it today I managed to get the wires through where to bonnet release cable runs, took power from cig lighter and fitted a nice rocker switch next to the TC and petrol flap release buttons. In answer to most on here I am not a `CHAV` by any means, am 38 years old with 3 kids, but I do a lot of milage for work and think the daytime lights really help you get noticed on the motorway, hence hopefully making it slightly safer. I am a biker (Yam R1) and allways drive with my headlight on, its the difference in been seen and not by most idiot motorists!!!
:D
Fitted the lights above headlights, and with my Hid conv looks mint.

I'm with you, my other 'ride' is a Yamaha Thundercat and the headlight switch is left on all the time! Then again, even in the car I have my headlights on most of the time, so I wouldn't have use for extra lights.

But I'm meltonlad, as far as I know there isn't anything other than bonnet above the headlights?

Get some pics up :)

Wil get some piccs up this weekend 4 ya all to see, some might laff but others may like. I mounted the running lights above the headlight units so : 1 they did not try to look like an Audi and : 2ease of fitting, the strips cannot be seen when the bonnet is closed, only the LED`s can be seen but they sit flush under the lip of the bonnet. Looks really neat. :D
