Hi guys, as title really fitting new ones this weekend but don't really wanna shell out £50 for a set of strut nut sockets to use once.

How's other people torqued theirs up? I was thinking of just cutting a window in an old 22mm deep socket.

It's a 2010 MK2 Leon fr (facelift)

Cheers

Edit: title supposed to say top mount but don't know how to edit title

I've done a few sets of struts now. In an actual garage in front of the mechanic and at college in front of the mechanic instructors as they watched me trying to get a torque wrench on it, laughing and pointing at me. The advice I was given is just go as tight as I can and not worry about it. So there ya go, if I end up working on someone's car they are getting "tight as I can get nm"!

Lmao ok then, I thought I read somewhere not torquing it correctly upset the Spring rates and could damage to seals etc, I've ended up ordering an offset socket for about £8 that's meant to be for oxygen sensors but it'll do what I want just fine I hope
Your college is probs like most... too skint to afford the special tools manufacturers insist on creating
