Hello!
I am waiting for a K04 kit from a TT 225 APX engine to arrive.

Does anyone know if this will fit bolt on? Thinking of the oil/water pipes and pipes to the intercooler (because they don't go the same way as on a TT/LCR)... What will have to be modded?

I have a 2,5" Exhaust from cat, but I will probably need cat from TT or LCR. Thinking of bying a supersprint.

Also waiting for a Forge FMIC.

The kit contains (if I have got the translation right - see the picture!)
K04 Turbo, wastegate with oil/water pipes, hoses/pipes, fuel injectors, downpipe, manifoild...

Have read about Robdons car, but still don't know if the kit will fit right on.

But I have another question. While I'm waiting for the turbo to arrive, I would like to try a new MAF because my car is not running perfect (loss of power when full throttle, spesially just before 4000rpm). Can I fit the TT225/S3/LCR MAF right on, or do I have to get a remap? And does it fit physically, because 225-engines uses a large tip?

You will need to get a remap or possibly new ECU as your engine will still think yuo have the 180. They adapt but im not sure they adapt that much!

RobDons car is a standard 180 cupra running a K04-001(or maybe a hybrid K03s) turbo that is a direct fit to the existing manifold, exhaust, intercooler & oil/water lines. a K04-020 is very different as it doesn't fit any of your existing parts.
a few questions for you...
how are you going to run the pipe work for the intercooler
how are you going to marry up to your exhaust

the simple answer i came up with when i looked at it was it was cheaper to go IHI than try & get my cupra to 225 spec.
i hope for your sake i'm wrong.

if surfer D can do this conversion on an ibiza with the same parts, lc should be easy

You will need to get a:
TT225 / S3 / LCR cat and LCR exhaust section.
All the gaskets and o rings for your lines.
A custom turbo to pancake intercooler pipe made or go for the S3 / LCR over engine intercooler pipe (and the intake manifold with intercooler inlet on the other side.
S3 / LCR / TT225 MAF - they are bigger than the 180s.
Ideally a set of 384cc injectors
A remap...

good luck

Thought of bying a TT225 cat from supersprint and use the 2,5" exhaust form cat I have now.
Also thought of ceeping the intercooler pipes - going for the forge fmi, and keeping the intake manifoild. Was hoping for the original pipes from turbo to IC would fit on the new turbo?
225 MAF will be in place
Injectors from TT225 are included, do I need other ones?

ScottC has a cat if you are looking for one which would hook up to your 2.5" exhaust pretty nicely I am sure. The standard intercooler pipework will need some fettling to get it to fit the K04 turbo which sits nearer the passenger side on a RHD car. The TT 225 injectors will be fine to about 280hp with a remap (apparently).

Thanks, thats some uesefull info. I have a LHD though - are they different?
But have I understood you correct that the IC-pipes will with a bit of effort?

How about the water/oil-connections?

What kind of Cat does ScottC have - will I a TT225/LCR cat also fit with a bit of fiddeling/small mods?

Water and oil lines should be OK.
ScottC has an LCR cat - which will connest to your downpipe with no problems.
I am not sure whether there are any differences with LHD to RHD with the turbo.

I would check the water line you have been supplied - it looks as if it has been cut off the car. May be worth checking whether the K03s turbo water line will connect easily with a pipe joiner section. Apart from a few gaskets you should be good to go. May be worth getting an inlet manifold from an LCR / S3 / Ibiza Cupra / TT225 which will let you use that intercooler pipe you have. You just need to get a FMIC to suit an LCR which will connect at the correct positions for your car.
I am looking for a part shown in your photo - does it have a part number on it?
good luck

I already have a FMIC (forge), so I hope the original hoses somehow will fit the new turbo, or we'll have to get one that does.
( Forge FMIC: http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=48295 )

I haven't actually got my hands on the parts, they are at my paren'ts house, but I will next weekend. But I could get you a part no, if you tell me wich part you are talking about.

Is there any need to change the fuelcontroller (or what it's called)?

I think I will let a company do the swap, along with a remap.

I am sure the Forge Intercooler will connect to the parts you have - you may have to adjust the large intercooler pipe that goes across the engine but that should not be too difficult with some flexible hose.
The part number I am looking for is the part in the middle of the picture - the silver plate with holes and nuts in it that attaches to the back of the cylinder head to connect the intercooler mount to. If you could find the part number that would be very useful.
The fuel pressure regulator on your car should be OK with the TT225 injectors as they deliver far more fuel and when the engine is mapped, it will be matched to the new injectors at 3bar pressure to suit the original fuel pressure regulator.

Good luck with the conversion.

surely cheaper to sell the cupra and buy a Leon Cupra R 225 spec. Or as said by others just get a big turbo upgrade,

That's probably true, if I had lived in any other country than Norway!
New price for Cupra R 225: 37000 GBP
New price topsport/cupra 180: 26400 GBP
(With todays GBP/NOK. The cars cost much here due to taxes for among other tings weight and hp)

Also, I have used alot of money on this car, that I never will get back when selling it. And there are practically no used cupra R for sale here...
