Hey everyone, looking at getting a set of coilovers finally!!
i've seen the FK AK Street which can be dropped 100mm or the JOM set which can go 70mm. Both fairly cheap and i don't want to spend loads! I've heard if you change the ARB to an audi TT one you don't need to change the droplinks to adjustables?
any thoughts on these kits?

Had JOMs on my last car (on for over a year) and the leon I have now.

Definitely recommend, they are basically FK but cheaper.

Greased up should last years. They're pretty comfy, unless you're driving over cobbles.

Here's mine before I fitted them....

that website doesn't exist mate unless it's .co.uk and then it's in a foreign language? lol

cheers mate! i've heard mixed things about these but you never know unless you've had them. Did you need to change your droplinks?

The tyre was nearly touching the arch (front and back) on my old one. This one is a little higher but still scrapes everywhere.

gotta be done, leon's look so good lower.

So WRONG

I have JOMS on my LC..... they are ace for the price

FK is the SAME MAKE!..... FK,JOM,2000, all come off the same production line, get painted different colours and branded differently.

Use google Crome and it will translate it ;) they are cheeper but a better shock jom's tend to leak from what I've read. the hot tuning ones have better coating to do the sponges last longer and there's less chance of corrosion

I've been looking into them for a while now as I'm also getting some soon :)

And mo your wrong :harhar:

I researched in to JOMS before buying them, and to be fair, my findings are that it was the MK4 Golf boys dissing them, what did they expect, slamming them to LOWEST settings and putting 19" rims with stupid camber and spacers?! of rough driving, even the top spec coil-overs will give way

However, majority of people have had an excellent experience with them

For road use I can't fault the JOM's, especially for the price.
I got them mostly for looks but I was impressed with the handling improvements too.
Not rock hard so they are comfortable for day to day use.
Obviously if you are wanting to really push your car on a track you should be spending a lot more.

i have FK coilovers, and they were on the car 18months (before i owned it) and when i MOT'd it ALL of the shocks were leaking, the seals perished etc.

I researched it and seems to be a common thing with some FKs. they were horrible ride aswel, but that could have been the shocks.

I went with Jamex Coilovers, £150 i think... not the best but better than my FKs

We sell loads of the JOMs and for a budget kit it's one of the best out there.

Give me a shout if you need any info or prices.
