Fog light LEDs

I managed to find some HB4 smd white led bulbs on eBay the other day, so I bought them for my foglights. However it was only after I fitted them in the middle of the night that I noticed they was still a dim glow comin from them despite the keys being no where near the car and all the lights turned off.I assume thatthis is because they require such low power that they're are living off the natural current in the car. Is there any way I can stop this as its going to dramatically reduce the life of the bulbs.

This is the same issue that I have with my Interior LED's. minimal power is needed to illuminate them. The power tends to cut off after around 5/10 minutes so it should not flatten your batteries (Even if they stayed on i cannot see them drawing enough to cause an issue).

I noticed that with the engine off, if you leave your headlights on (E.g. sidelights as it does not leave the main or dipped beam on when the key is out of the ignition) then the side lights will turn off after a period of time to save battery, same with the radio electronics :).

Did you get CanBus LED Fogs? I have them and they do not continue to glow after the engine is off.

I'm not sure if they stayed on all night, they were definitely on for at least an hour. You can't see in daylight as its only a really dim glow. I think I may have found a solution, a company down the road sells HB4 led resistors. Basically making them canbus error free, killing any glowing and eliminating the dreaded flickering.
Thanks for your help though anyway guys, ill let you know if it works.

Well after 2 hours messing about with it I managed to snap the cheap crappy cables of the new resistors and whilst trying to fix them pulled the LEDs to pieces so as you can imagine I'm pretty F'd off! £26 down the #*@? Pan! Ahh well I should have just bought HIDs. U live and learn eh?....

Ouch!! I have been through my fair share of bulbs that i've destroyed, but like you said you live and you learn....

I would look on Ebay for some CanBus ready LED Fog's as in my opinion the HID's wont look that great. They are used as cornering lights and HID's take time to warm up, whereas the LED's would be at full brightness straight away. If i were to fit HID's I think I would have the cornering function disabled, However I like the cornering function with the LED's :)
