Hi everyone.

When i bought my Leon i installed an Automate alarm system. I had the idea to connect the mirrors with the alarm locking and unlocking.. The guy who did the istalation tried for hours with the wiring but he only managed to fold the mirrors when locking and not the unfolding.
:(

Yesterday at the 30.000km service i asked them to program the autolock function and it works fine.:p
So i thought if there is a way to program the mirrors to fold when locking and unfold when unlockin??
Does anyone have tried something like this or know how can be done??

Another i think clever idea was the little red led of the alarm system which was fitted with a small drill next to the lock at the drivers door, same as the WV Passat and Golf...
About a month ago i saw at the service a Leon 1.4 with no factory alarm and had this led as standard wich was flashing when locking the door with the key...
I also saw a few days ago another 1.4 Leon with no locks at all (i mean the little stick you press to lock the door)....
It had of course as standard the autolock and unlock function...

Waiting for any idea about the "auto" folding mirrors..
Thanks:)

Personally best bet is buying a AutoWindow Reflex module that works to fold and unfold the mirrors from remote and upon locking and unlocking the car!

Has anyone got any details of the autowindow reflex kit? what exactly is it, and how hard is it to fit? would this let the mirrors fold and open auto' when simply pressing lock/unlock on the keyfob?
(my car already has the folding mirrors, just woudl like them to fold when locking/unlocking)
thanks

yeah i have fitted it to my car and another members car on here, and both work a charm.
The autowindow module has many functions to fold and unfold the mirrors and also to wind down the windows on the car also at the same time.

more information @ AutoWindow Website

it has various ways to using it, i have it on Power Pack mode which translates to the folding mirrors and auto window closure upon locking the car and upon unlocking the car afterwards the mirrors unfold automatically.
There are options to press different buttons etc to get the mirrors to unfold and fold on there own, but the main function for me is it folds them in once i leave the vechicle....

Fitting well I'm an ex audio installer, so wasnt to hard for me to do in about an hour... but i guess joe blogs would do it in about 2.5 hours its just a point of tracing the right wires and scotch locking into them.. The instructions that come with the kit is very good and cant go wrong really.
There is a guide on here somewhere, some posted up pics on a how too..

and one last thing... i thought i would meation this as it doesnt meation it anywhere else on searching for info on the reflex module....
The commands from the remote to operate the module HAS to be within 15secs of closing the drivers door ONLY. So basically if unlock the car and open the rear door and then close that door and lock it again teh windows and mirrors WILL NOT close as the module works on the basis that it gets a pulse from the door switch on the drivers door only, i think this is due to a security feature.
and also in the instructions of fitting in the module is states a wire colour pattern that doesnt exist in the harness, so best to double check the last few by there plug port number.

excellent, thanks very much. i just want what you have said, the mirror function. seems a great price (£70)

i am right in thinking from the info on the website that you still use the stock car keyfob yes?

yep it all works off the OE keyfob, its basically a module that interpets all the pulse signal to operate the windows and mirrors...

and £70 aint to bad, shame it takes like a week and half ot come from canada but hey its worth the wait.

least u have the weather to fit it, i did mine in the cold, numb fingers and thin wires aint a get match.. lol

superb. thanks for your help. Definatly going to get me one, its exactly what i wanted. So its just a case of tracing certain wires and splicing into them? ive fitted a couple of alarms, and am competent with wiring so it should be ok for me. i wont be rushing it though!
thanks again, mark:)

No worries mate, glad i could help....

also if u have done a few alarms, then this will be a walk in the park compared to them...

the hardest part it cutting the tape off the wiring harness on the drivers doors, have to be careful not to cut thou the wire within it...

Good luck with it mate, when u recieve it!

Any problems with it, just drop me a PM.. be glad to help. :D

slick, i read this on the website:

Command has 15-second timeout imposed after closing the driver's door, but this limitation can be relaxed using SETUP from the remote to change operating mode

may be some help with what you said above?
