Having just drove from norwich to south wales (Long Trip) I went to get something of the back seat, but when I tried the handle to bring the seat forward (I`ve a three door) nothing happend and the seat wont come forward and the handle just feels limp! Im guessing its the spring thats gone, bit annoyed seing as the car is only around 6 weeks old and ive only used this handle around five times!! [:@] Am I right in thinking that this will get sorted under warranty, and does anyone know how long it will take?

I had this happen to me and it turned out to be the cable inside the seat snapping which was replaced under warranty. It's easy enough to fix if they've got the parts, but with it being Christmas it might take a while for the parts to come in.

That was my worry, too, that it would take longer cos it was christmas, another daft question, even though I bought the car in norwich it will be fine to take it to a dealer here in south wales? Oh might they be funny about it?

As far as I know, you should be able to take it to any dealer. If they start getting funny then just speak to Seat customer services and let them deal with it.

Failing that (but with u saying limp id go with cable) it could also be something stuck down the side, making the seat unable to move, happened on my old 1.2 with a 2 pence coin, and my pen in my new one! Got both out tho....

I bought my Ibiza from the Warrington dealers but live in Derby. Within a few weeks I had 2 or 3 bits fixed under warrenty at my local dealers. So you shouldn't have any problems going to one in Wales.

Oi, all I got was 2 pence... ggrrr! lol, no worries... I was pretty surprised the first time, when I took it in, and the dealer gave me 20 pence! Needless to say its the first thing I look for when the seats dont fold ne more!

Merry Christmas :D

I thought I had lost a pound coin in the passenger seat mechanism which stopped it working. But when the garage examined it, they didn't say anything about a coin. Must have pocketed it. ;)

They did fit a new mechanism to it under warranty though, giving me an access plus seat for free! :D

Yeah, but they still nicked a pound off you. Keep things in perspective, and sue the b@stards! ;) ;) :D
