Gear linkage rattle

Hi guys ive had this rattle when driving my leon (1.6 AZD engine) at first i thought it could be the gearbox mount which i will be replacing as it has a lot of movement also il do the DB mount to but i had a look at the gear linkage (i have that rod linkage system) and there is a lot of play i mean like i can pull it up and down on the leaver bearing just need to know really is it supposed to be like this or has something come off i also do have a notchy gear stick lately to
any help is much appreciated

thanks for helping i will have a look at that i think mine is the leaver bearing aswell which is moving up and down but will defo give this a try
