Hi Guys

Just wanting to judge everyone's opinion on the Gear Box in the Ibiza 18 plate. Ive had mine about a month now and Ive gotta admit to finding the gearbox a bit different to my Leon cupra r. The cupra r's gearbox was really smooth when going into gear.

When going into gear in the Ibiza there seems to be abit of resistance, especially when going in and out of reverse. Not as bad with 1 to 6 but its still there at times. Sometimes its worse than others. Like i said with the cupra it was so smooth going into the gears, now with the Ibiza it just seems to be abit clunky and harder to put in gears.

Whats everyone else's opinion and thoughts on their new Ibiza's??

The gearboxes fitted to the lower powered cars are not very slick and can when new be slightly stubborn - that is how I found the 6 speed box on my wife's August 2015 Polo 1.2TSI 110PS to be.
I've had a 2000 VW Passat 4Motion from newand it had the 2.8V6 30V Audi engine and 5 speed gearbox etc, and its gearbox was heavy but possibly slick enough when warmed up, I now have an 2011 Audi S4 with a 6 speed gearbox and it is heavy but slick to change.

I haven't driven many cars but I find the gearbox to be fine, I think mine is actually quite good as the gear normally slides in with very little force. Sometimes reverse is a bit funny between when you press down and when it sits in place, but it isn't too bad.

I also find it seems to improve when the engine has warmed up.
