There will also be a legends parade this weekend. To celebrate 50 years of the BTCC.

The line-up is as follows with all cars – plus a 2008 SEAT Leon TDI and Team Halfords Honda Civic and Frank Biela’s 1996 title-winning Audi Quattro – then on display on the circuit’s infield close to the BTCC paddock.

Jack Sears, Champion 1958 & 1963, in 1958 Austin Westminster A105
Sir John Whitmore, will ride as passenger with Sears, Whitmore won the 1961 BTCC title in a Mini.

Andy Rouse, Champion 1975, 1983, 1984 & 1985, in 1989 Ford Sierra RS500

Gordon Spice, 27 race wins and top class Champion 1976-80, in 1974 ‘Quick Brew’ Ford Capri 3.0S Mk2 Gp1

Damon Hill, 1996 F1 World Champion who raced in 1989 BTCC, in 1958 Riley 1.5 – in absence of 1958 championship runner-up and 9 x race-winner Tommy Sopwith

Roy Pierpoint, 14 race wins & Champion in 1965, in 1965 Ford Falcon

Bill McGovern, Champion 1970, 1971 & 1972, in 1964/65 Hillman Imp

Richard Longman, Champion in 1978 & 1979, in 1978 Mini Clubman 1275GT
Alec Poole will sit alongside Longman, Poole was Champion in 1969 in a Mini Cooper S.

Tony Dron, 6 race wins from 1974-84, in 1975 Triumph Dolomite Sprint

Stuart Graham, 18 race wins from 1973-80, in 1970 Chevrolet Camaro – also representing team-mate of the era, the late Richard Lloyd

Vince Woodman, 12 race wins from 1971-1989, in his European-spec Ford Capri Cologne

Barrie Williams, contested BTCC from 1974-89, in the late Gerry Marshall’s 1976 Vauxhall Magnum

Graham Leslie, in his father, the late David Leslie’s 1999 Nissan Primera (David won 9 races from 1991-2003 and was championship runner-up in 1999)

Anthony Reid will also be a passenger in former team-mate, the late David Leslie’s 1999 Nissan Primera. Reid was one of the BTCC’s top names from the mid-1990s to 2004 and, in 1998, as Leslie’s team-mate, achieved a staggering 11 pole positions in his Primera.

Chris Craft, 4 race wins from 1969-79, in 1969 Ford Escort

Jeff Allam, 16 race wins 1977-95, in a Rover Vitesse

David Brodie, contested BTCC 1963-95, in 1988 Ford Sierra RS500

Martin Thomas, contested BTCC 1967-86, in 1967 ‘Ovaltine’ Chevrolet Camaro

Derek Warwick, ex-F1 driver contested BTCC from 1995-98, in John Cleland’s 1995 title-winning Vauxhall Cavalier

Jackie Oliver, ex-F1 driver with 4 race wins from 1966-70, in 1967 Ford Mustang

Chris Hodgetts, will drive the very same Brooklyn Ford Escort RS 1600i in which he won his class in 1985 before going on to lift back-to-back BTCC titles in 1986 and 1987 by dominating his class in a Toyota Corolla.

Finally, Team Halfords’ team principal Steve Neal – himself a mean BTCC racer in Minis in the 1960s – will drive his son Matt’s title-winning 2005 Honda Integra.
