According to most tuners i have spoken to, the new 1.4 Super turbo is not gonna be very tunable. AMD just said, " not gonna bother"
 thats a shame it would be pretty good id imagine.

Right, here's my shortlist of car choice's: (in no particular order)

Audi A3 Tdi Sport (new shape model)
Mk5 Vw Golf Gt Tdi
Seat Ibiza Cupra Tdi
Vauxhall Astra Sporthatch Cdti

Please feel free to comment on your choice. All comment's appreciated!

IMO your shortlist looks like an application fro a Company Car  - be different go for the Cupra. In all honesty the others are fantastic, and I wouldn't mind an A3 remapped, but the Cupra wins hands down on value for money.

This my point of view.
1 . Seat Cupra best by a mile if you want the fastest tdi around easy to get serious power plus it looks different and there are very few around.Against : insurance is high for the above reasons.
2 . Golf , easy to mod if you want with good build quility plus holds resale value well.Against : Everyone and his dog has got one
3 . Audi , same as Golf above. Against more exspensive then a golf but at least theres not so many around.
4 . Vauxhall , no sorry rep mobile and its a vauxhall so high depreciation.

Any vultures interested in picking over the bones of my car can go to http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=72796&page=4 and we can talk there or pm me.

I love the Cupra's look's and it's the quickest of the four, Golf-Like you say very common sight, Audi-Expensive to buy but hold value really well + excellent build quality, Astra-Think's it's a no-no as it will be worth peanut's in three years time.

Does anyone have any other Oil burner suggestions?

Ive not a fan of Beemer's really, I have looked at Alfa 147 Jtd's but their bad rep for reliability put's me off.

I suppose it comes down to money and how long your going to keep the car ( Audi/Golf's reputations for holding value) You've experienced the Cupra, but does it still "float your boat". I still think the Cupra is the one - I mean how many do you see on the roads. I drive 25miles to work in Lincs and I've seen one.

I do really like the Astra Sporthatch but im just dubious about resale value in the future. I was offered today a 55 plate Astra Sporthatch 1.9 cdti 150 bhp for £14,995. Which is a pre reg car for £4k off list price. Therefore i reckon this will eventually affect 2nd values. 212Bhp sound's nice tho! :coolthumb

I imagine all the above cars will need upgraded brakes for what you have instore??? Extra money ;) ...., plus the ibiza is faster in a line, and possibly round corners, especially with the quaife fitted.

You know what my moneys on. ;) (black cupra's are a little faster too!!!:)

I like the platinum. Saw my first one a few weeks back, and looked lovely in the morning light, as my currently brown (bloody salt and soot) cupra passed by :(

No...they're much FASTER! :D

Feeling sensible? Toyota Corolla D4D (maybe with some TRD parts)
Hairdresser? Renault Megane Cabriolet...yep they do a diesel.
My other half has a Lupo TDi, it's reasonable fun, would be interesting with 100bhp after a remap, or would be mental with a PD160 engine in it :wtf:

Here's a different TDi...ignore the grandad image and try the Jag X-type twin turbo diesel...should be interesting once slightly breathed on??

Cupra's were available with 3k off list price as pre-reg's so I hope you're not right

No i think Seat's tend to hold their value better than Vauxhall cos there not such a volume producer as Vauxhall.

I will have a Cupra for £3k off list!!! Tell me where???
