059 919 501A is the part number for the new green one too
Suppose that having a mum that is in to her VAG does help in a way

My temp guage has been doing somet wierd usually at a stand still where in goes down in temp then goes back to normal a couple times then works fine. Had it replaced by Awesome Sarah a year or so ago. only started a couple days ago. Toped up my car coolant as that was below the min mark see if that fixes it

Rekon I need to replace it again?

HI
It should not , be faulty
But keep an eye on the collant level
The expansion tank can get faulty too and think it is low when in fact it is not
But if it is low , keep an eye on it , top up when cold too

could slightly low coolant cause the guage to bounce up and down like it did on mine?
Had a good blast in the car this morning after topping up coolant yesturday morning and no faults to report

No the gauge is for temperature, not a level measurer ;)

I know that but if the sensor wasnt making cantact with coolant it would not report a temp would it?

Im not sure where the sensor is so im just guessing :)
