So, Today we are going to get a first hand with Plastidip. Its a wonderfull spray to black out things from- or your hole car. When you want it off, you just peel it of in one piece.

We are going to black out the rear bumper strip (or something ;))

Spray in calm conditions.
When using tape, remove the tape after each layer and reapply for the next one! Otherwise you will peel off the Plastidip when removing the tape!

  • What are we gonna spray?!

  • Get Plastidip!
You can buy the American or European version. I Prefer the American one (better coverage).

  • Cover other bits & pieces
You dont want to spray the whole car so we use Scotch tape. With the tape you can make nice lines.

  • First layer
You are now going to spray your first layer (always begin to spray on a empty paper or something to prevent big splashes). The first layer has to be around 30 and 60%.

  • Next, Next, Next
You can apply your next layer after 15-20 minutes after the previous one. Now we are going for 70-90%. Your next layer can be the full 100%. (You are free to do it an other way).

  • End Result!
When you have your final layer applied, wait 2 hours for driving etc.

Remember: Plastidip isn't permanent. It can hold for several years, but not force it with washing your car or in a washing machine.

Was thinking of doing the front bumper of my Ibiza Cupra 6J in gloss black to match the bocanegra. Has anybody else tried this?

Look through 'adambolus' 's thread, he's done it and it looks great. Going to do mine now I have the vinyl. I think he wasn't happy with the finish and ended up spraying it though.
