Hard wired dash cam

hi

I fitting a dash cam into my daughters 59 plate Ibiza, and it comes with a hard wire kit.

It has a piggy back fuse connector for the fuse box, any recommendations on which fuse to piggy back?

I am not fussed on a permanent live,and am ok with the dash cam powering up on key on.

Use the cigarette lighter fuse. Done that on an 06 and 61 plate Leon.

Sorry to piggyback on this thread but you wouldn't happen to have a fuse box layout diagram at all?

One on the top row only turns on when ignitionon is on, bottom row is always powered on (my Garmin has a parking recording mode).

If none of these are free on yours, try another. You'll need to test the voltages, some with iginition off will drop to 5V and ignition on 12V so do not use these, some others fuse sockets your CAN Bus may get triggered so the ECU is turned on, meaning you'll have a flat battery if you do not drive it for a few days, so make sure the empty slot isn't realted to the engine at all.

I've got one in there just now but need to add a second piggyback so thought I'd better just check and make sure I put them both on a good fuse while I'm there.
