Few bits i want doing still in the engine bay that ive noticed upon looking at these pics.

My oil breather filter is currently on a bit of blue silicone hosing, so that needs to be red! And ideally i want the coolant cap black aswell. Think ive seen that on Awesome Gti for £8 so thats a bargain.

I have some more pics to uploa but they can wait til tomorrow!

Well after a sunny day out at modified nationals i feel like i should finish updating my readers ride!

Whilst in the garage having all the engine parts fitted i figured id get my 312mm brakes on in preperation for a map/exhaust combo in the near future. Heres some before and after pics :)

I love them... They look massive compared to the old ones and the stopping power seems much better. Ad considering i bought the calipers/carriers for £50, the new discs and pads £120 and painted it using some caliper paint i had left over. A total outlay of £170 seemed a good price :)

Another small mod now. after de badging my side b pillars and removing them from the car to paint i managed to break most of the clips! Sooo i bought a new set and lobbed them straight on the car lol

null-1.jpg

Then i decided while i was respraying my front seat badge gloss black i might like my side pillars gloss black aswell, so i bought some gloss black vinyl wrap from ebay for £5 and set about it. It took a while to do and get a smooth finish but i like it overall and was worth the time and effort.

Andd the final little bits ive done today just too see what they look like.

I picked up a forge motorsport sticker from Modified Nationals today so figured id lob that on the forge strut brace that didnt have a sticker!

null-6.jpg

And i was looking online for black washer caps an coolant caps and thought 'hmmm i wonder if i can use some of my left over vinyl wrap and make my own'. I decided id just buy the coolant cap in black from awesome gti, but i had a crack at the washer cap! I like the fact its black and didnt cost me any extra so overall im happy with it.

Well thanks for looking people!

The next things il be doing should be;

Stage 1 map
Milltek non resonated cat back
Potentially window tints
Wheel spacers
And maybe a new K&N cone filter

Looking forward to going to some shows this year aswell, probably not on a stand just as a fan! So hopefully see some of your cars around :)

Overall i was happy with it, alot of excess grease and oil came off the cam cover but i couldnt seem to shift a mystery white selection of dots on some of the black plastics :/

null-28.jpg

Any ideas on how to remove this?

Well small update, its mot time and my hids need to come out. One of the ballasts is practically fooked so ive ordered some bulbs from autobulbsdirect which 'claim' to be whiter than standard. We shall see!

null-43.jpg

Love the fact they lobbed in a fruit salad sweet or two! I was peckish when i opened them lol

So while it was sunny this weekend i thought i may aswell get my hids off and new bulbs on. The drivers side was easy... The passengers side however. Took time and skin from my arm but is now done :/ you need some small old hands to push the clip back on. I unfortunately didnt have small enough hands so used a screwdriver to push it back on haha

Holes still in place for hids if i change back in the future :p

Oh and one of my battle wounds...
null-36.jpg

While i was in the engine bay i decided to change over the bit of blue silicone holding my breather filter for red silicone. Just because im fickle and like all matching colours haha

Red:

Oh and i put the original airbox feed back in for my cone filter to act as a cold air feed.

Small update, my front wipers needed replacing so thought id buy some aero wipers and a polo rear wiper! They actually work sooo much better than the valeo wipers i had previously!

During:
FYI removing the nut was the first step towards rage. Where the old arm hadnt been off ever it was practically corroded in place. I had to use wd40 a small flat screwdriver and force to get it off. Also noticed the old arm was starting to discolour and snapped!

After:
Overall im happy with them, retrofit i know but easy to fit fronts and barring the initial issues with removing the rear its also a good fit. Had to file a few mm off the cap so as to not catch the glass.

Fronts cost £6 from ebay, rear arm and blade cost £9 from ebay. Ive spent more than that buying halfords blades on my old fiesta haha

to be fair i've never taken my car anywhere else! and his r32 is pure sex.. Where do you take yours for its work? Yeah that would be sweet! have to try and get to a local meet or something would be good to see your motor in the flesh as some times pics dont do cars justice. Oh and in answer to your post on your readers ride, yeah i do have facebook so il add that lincs vag up and try to pop along to one.

I've been taking it to LVS Racing and also had work done by Alex at AKS. I'm booked in at R Tech for my stage two map.
Are you having a custom map or Revo?

lol yellows always fade, just depends how badly! bet you can't wait for that then, gives you something to look forward to though i suppose. always hear good things about ****** and my mate had his golf mk4 done there and it moved like **** off a shovel. going in for a custom map and turbo back, id love an fmic to go with but just costs too much overall. You seen many other seats around the area?

Wellll.... Had turbo back exhaust and stage 2 today... Fook me. I love this car, smiled all the way back from northampton to lincoln. Il pop pics up at a later date, i was really unsure of the milltek twin tip to begin with but looks really nice on the car.

looks tidy, the black wheels suit - I need to do the the 312 conversion. Not keen on that fly eye stuff, I tried it but it just looked cack.

yeah to be fair i wouldn't like to do the rear or front lights in fly eyes as it would be too big an area. but with it just being a small bit it sort of blends in nicely. ahhh man 312mm is such an amazing difference in stopping power, i was sceptical about it at first but since the powers gone up im glad i did!
