Looking for some bright headlight bulbs or do I just suck it up and get a hids4u hid kit ?
LED's are a great alternative. I paid £50 for my set and they fit within the plastic covers on the back of the headlight (Just) so there is no modification required. If you want 100% legal then night breakers are excellent, but only last about 500 hours.
Do you happen to have the details of your LED's ?
These: H7 Philips LUXEON ZES Headlight Kit - 6000K
I have LED's, and they are great. But, I think they are illegal for the MOT, so bear that in mind if you are going for them
I have these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nighteye...602803?hash=item3f7a0cdc33:g:rZMAAOSwvshavQUb
Did these require any modification to install or just plug into the original connector ?
No. LEDs are not an MOT failure. HIDs are as were not standard on the car when produced.
I run LEDS on all front lights. Xcellent, what a difference. Transforms night time. I don't get flashed.
High beam is like daylight.
They plug straight in, you just need to remove the back of them to get them in the headlight holder.
What bulbs are you using ? Have you any links ?
Just deleted all my photos.
It's all in my readers ride, f you can be bothered. Hit "my ride" below.
If I have a mo I'll try to find out. Mine were under 20uqid and are excellent.
Page 3 of my. Ride.
Can't post pics up as not hosted anywhere and tapatalk is down.
If you look on page 3 of my ride you'll see pic of the brand etc and if you scroll down there's a pic of them lighting up a dark country road too.
Try Osram Nightbreaker Lasers H7 and normal Nightbreakers for H1
Is that easy ?
Yep, it's that easy! Make sure you get fanless. When I asked the MOT tester in November he didn't even know about LED's, but he said any car pre 2012 they would be legal, but I believe the law states they have to be below 2000 lumens so it is a grey area. Never been flashed or stopped with them as they have a perfect light pattern.
Woukd those work ?
LEDs at MOT is fine. Can't have HID kit.

It depends on your MOT tester, I forgot to change mine last month and passed with a minor advisory regarding my rear brake discs - nothing about the lights

They will judging by the description page.
Bear in mind those seem to need a ballast fitted too. Which comes in the box.
Space is limited within the lights back casing.
