Heater Control with AC

Hi all

Right I stripped out the control unit and found the problem.

Behind the knob there is a copper contact which has got bent out of shape. With a bit of fiddling I have managed to get some of the control working. But what I really need is a pic of what the contact did look like so I can attempt to bend it back the way it originally was.

Failing that I will look around the scrappy for a replacement... but would like to try and fix what I have first...

Or what other cars heater control unit will fit straight into the Cordoba? got a quote from Kings seat of £151!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I am sure with a little bit of playing I can get them to work by bending the copper connector.. just need to know what it looked like originally.

Hi mate the ibiza ones fit as do mk4 polo ones try ebay plenty breaking on there.

Yeah they all use the same dash.

Think so can't actually say i paid much attention when i took mine apart once, but if there is they will all be th4 same.

ok before I try and go find one of these things. I am gonna try and repair (break) my existing one lol.

On the back of the control there is a copper arm with a hammer shaped end. Do the prongs of this hammer have to be bent in a particular way? as in the "T" section have one part bent towards you and the other part bent away from you? so that way connects to both the other copper contacts on the switch?

Ok some sucess

I have replaced the copper contact arm on the back of the heater selection switch. Found one on a cordoba that was in the scrappy. Now I have 1-2-3-4 which actually work yay

Also I got a glove box lid too. All in all I am happy. I could not find the wiper stalk with the dash computer function on it... does anyone know what other cars have the same wiper stalk?

I dont know whether its just that mine has a loose connection or something will have a look when I get some more time.
