Heater problem & Glove Compartment Panel Missing?

Hi,

My heater wasn't working on setting 1 & 2 but ok on 3 & 4.

I took my Ibiza (2010 model) to a local garage hoping it would only be the resistor that needed replaced but was told the resistor and motor needed replaced as the motor was giving out to much power blowing the resistor, anyone else had the same problem?

Anyway, as my car was only in for an MOT & service I only wanted this checked out, it's still to be fixed BUT...

I was cleaning my car out the other day and have never seen this foam under the glove compartment, is there a panel and/or carpet missing from when the mechanic may have neen removed when looking at the heater problem?

I thought it was suspicious when I found 2 broked clips while hoovering the passenger side matt.

Can anyone confirm something is missing or is that normal by looking at the photos attached, it's annoying me.

no, nothing is missing, its open like that.

I've had the car 6 years and never noticed that before...strange indeed.

Even under the glove compartment i feel foam were as I thought this used to be a hard panel.

no, the foam was always there.
