Help with Central Locking Problem

So my Cupra has an issue with the central locking when I try to open the doors from the remote key fob. All the doors/boot open ok but the drivers door doesn’t (most of the time). It used to work fine. I need to use the key to unlock this door. The remote locks the doors fine.
Additionally to add to my confusion, sometimes it open the drivers door. When this happens it seems to continue to work for a few days then stop against n.

Anyone know what the issue and how to rectify it.

Thanks

Pete

Oh do I haha

I had this exact issue in my Cupra R

https://forums.seatcupra.net/index.php?threads/441017/

Or this link if you want the video without reading everything

That will sort all your issues out or spend £250 a door for a new module.

15 minutes per door it took me.

Just randomly started going then starts to work based on the oil inside the motor I assume.

Hope that helps

So I got round to trying this last night.
Wasn't sure if you really needed to take the lower piece of trim off which was held in by one screw. But I did anyway.
Both bits of trim came off with a little encouragement. Was a bit concerned I'd damage them. But went fine.
Drilled the hole. Got the WD40 out. Wasn't sure how much to put in. But it seemed to be willing to take a fair amount.
So probably after about 20 seconds of squirting, stopped.
Left car overnight. And......
Bingo... door unlocked with no issue this morning. Very pleased.
I imagine it will need a topup at some point.

Thanks for your help.

Glad you got it sorted buddy, I put Blutac on top of the hole to seal it and make it easy to take off and top up if needed.

You just saved yourself £250 lol

How many weird looks did you get drilling into what looks like the door frame haha

Glad it's all working now, crap design by VW but cannot really take it back after 8 years if I'm honest lol

You enjoy drilling into the casing when it feels like it's never going to break through...

Cheers
