Hi have just recently purchased a 03 plate leon cupra T from hobins, the guy i was dealing with was called Terry Ruffles,i just wanted to say that the service and help i have recieved so far with my new SEAT experience has been fantastic, due to one thing and another i was only able to pick my car up on a thursday, which was terry's day off, feelin peeved i was going to have to wait another day to get my car terry called me and said he would come in on his day off to sort everything out,i just had to give him a time i'd be at the showroom, this on a day when his wife was in hospital too!,anyhow all was sorted and i've been driving around with a huge grin on my face for the last 10 days lol,i totally love driving the car,and further more got a call from terry on sunday evening just as a courtesy call asking if everything was ok with the car,so that coupled with the overall pleasentness of the other sales people at Hobins, makes me feel happy that i made a good choice at a good dealership, congrats to David Hobin on your sales team.

Terry at Hobin Preston seems like the guy to ask for. My dad has bought 2 Leons off Terry and rates him highly. :)

Iv just got 59 plate Cupra from there. John Twigg was my salesman and can only say the same nice things about Hobin, Preston. Very pleased and helpful with customer service.

Just bought my Leon Ecomotive from Dan Coupe - couldn't have been easier, cracking deal and well worth the 400 mile round trip from Glasgow, moreso when I realised he'd filled the tank free for my journey home

Well done Hobin of Preston!

I wasn't very impressed with them to be honest. Absolutely no interest in budging even slightly from the asking price of a car and gave me some rubbish story about the car being priced to sell and £1000 cheaper than a comparable car within the group, which I know to be completely untrue. Not only untrue but quite the opposite as I was trying to get a 'deal' because there was another car within the group with less mileage that was cheaper. A shame really as I was ready to hand over £10,500. Needless to say, I'll be travelling to get the other one.

Ive only bought from the bury branch as found them more willing to do a deal. However the service manager at Preston is a top guy!

I bought the ibiza from here and they where very good to deal with. And when I had a problem with the rear wheel arch they took the car in there and then and fixed it. Top notch in my opinion. [B)]

Didn't call me back recently with an enquiry. Not the best start for a potential car sale

hmm can't say I was at all impressed with my local seat dealer aka Hobbins. The sales guys wrote me off the second I walked in, despite making numerous visits at the time or wanting my FR. I know I was 20 at the time but I can't say that was a reason. I was hardly staggering in wearing trackies and last nights tea down my t-shirt. I even went down to show my mum when I knew I had my heart set on a Black TFSI FR. No respect whatsoever then. My father was is in the Motor Trade as a dealer for 30 years for a few over the major players like Vauxhall etc and he'd have been turning in his grave. They just acted like there was a 50 deep queue outside the door and they could sell cars with their eyes shut. DESPITE THE CREDIT CRUNCH!
Spotted the one I wanted in a dealers in St Albans (C0UPERS) Hobbins said they'd get me the exact car for £1700 more on top of C0UPERS price... So I went home and booked a one way train to St Albans. The lad Ben @ C0UPERS, was great, knocked even more off the price, put in some nice extras i didn't even have to ask for.

So I'd say shop around for deals, use Hobbins for the service.

Wasn't impressed with the service team either. My Diverter valve had split which appears to be a common issue hence them bringing out a revised piston operated one. Wouldn't change it even though it had 2 years warranty left because I had a jubilee clamp rather than a spring clamp on the air feed. How that directly relates I don't know.
Also said that there were no faults and it drove fine!!! It was literally operating like it had no turbo!

This was about 1.5 years ago. Maybe they've learnt now?

I Have To Say That Preston Hobins Is A Good Dealer When It Comes To The Servicing Side Of Things, I Have Been There A Few Times With My MK4, Had Stuff Like 30k Service And Some Warranty Work Carried Out, But They Were Really Helpful When I Put My Car In For Warranty Work And They Realised It Was A Duff Wishbone Bush On One Side Put On By My Insurance Company (When I Crashed) So He Said He Would Replace It In The Hour And Gave Me A Full Report Of What Was Wrong, Why It Was Causing A Problem And Gave Me The Part To Show When I Took The Garage That Did My Insurance Work to Court :) So I Think That They Are A Good Dealer,

I Also Asked Him About P/x My MK4 For A MK5 In The Near Future And He Said Even Though It Is Modded, He Would Happily P/x For No Less Than £5k If It Was Before 2012 :) So Im Happy With That :D

Well I bought my Leon from here just over two years ago.
I had been looking around everywhere, garages, autotrader and the side of the road, just to get an idea of prices and spec that I wanted.

Went into Hobins and spoke to a rep, think his name was Daniel? Explained exactly what I wanted and at what price, he said he'd have a look. Got back to me a few ays later having found the car I was looking for, but the price was a bit high.

After quite a bit of negotiation he managed to get it down to the price I was happy with so all I had to do was go back, sign the papers and pick it up :)

I have had a couple of services there, and had some warranty work carried out and have to say I've been very happy with the standard of work they did. Also worth mentioning they gave me a courtesy car each time, one of which was the new ibiza turbo/supercharged thingy :D

I did also buy a spare part from there, which was a good price, and easy to do, order it one day, pick it up the next.

So overall happy with them. . .

Very happy with Hobins of Preston, I always go there, the guys are always helpful, cheap and when mine went in for its bushes to be done, they gave me an Ibiza Mk5 2.0 TDi FR and mines only a mk4 1.2. Thumbs up!!

Not had a good experience with Hobins, initially quoted me £1500 for a service and some repairs, after a challenge ("i.e. that's expensive, no thanks"), they then went away and came back with £1000, the cheek! They then kept pestering me with cold phone calls for months afterwards.

Hob!n's haven't been that great with me so far if I'm honest.

I bought a brand new 12 plate Ibiza FR from them in July and already it's been in the garage twice.

There's a rattling noise coming from the engine bay, which Hob!n's say is "just a standard noise.", when really they've already told me it's the rod that pulls on the turbo that has come loose. They said this will happen when it gets worn down... I'd barely done 5k in the car before that happened... Not happy!

They also sold me the car with '6' speakers, only to find out that I was given 4, and would have to buy the other 2 as an optional extra?!

They are calling me back this week on an update on the rattling noise... I'll let you all know how I get on.

Just rang Seat for an update on the rod for the turbo... Nothing yet. They'll 'ring' me soon.

I also asked Terry about my speakers that haven't been included... He said 'Paul has left now, so he's not here to defend what he said.'

In other words, 'F*ck you Mike, we won't even look into it for you.'

Hob!n's really aren't helping themselves at the minute.
