How do you fit a aftermarket radio in a MK2?

I have recently bought a Cordoba and I want to replace the standard radio with an aftermarket one, I have removed the standard one but I cannot fit the cage in for the aftermarket one, it’s a Sony head unit if that helps. Any help?

Is it a new cage? Never had an issue fitting head units to mk2s before

There may be different tengs on the cage to allow for different depths of facia at the radio slot opening. Just make sure you've got the right ones bent out the ways enough to catch and hold the cage securely without disorting the overall shape of the cage. If it gets distorted it may cause difficulties with the actual radio engaging and releasing to and from the cage with ease.
