How does the Bluetooth work then?

I'm considering a case of out with the old and hopefully, in with the new 2.0 TFSI
+rain sensing mirror+MP3 (why have a 6CD autochanger when I can fit loads on 1 CD?)+ Bluetooth pack


But how does the bluetooth pack work then... is there a phone mic. and speaker set up? Can I access my contact list?

From what i understand - YES

Certain phones are compatible with the car for your contact lists, other wise it will just be speaker and mic that will work


But the biggest reason IIRC - is that you get a larger display, therefore you get driver information stuff on it too, like low on washer fluid and stuff, which you don't get if you get a non-bluetooth car as the display is smaller. (or am i confused with he MP3 player??)

I've got the bluetooth pack with my Leon TDI sport, and its the bees knees.

I'm using a Samsung D500 phone at the moment. Sadly, it can't access my mobile's address book. The car does have it's own address book however, which you can load with entries using voice commands (just say the name and read out the numer). The voice recognition is great, having no trouble with my accent. I have no idea where the mic is, but I just speak normally and the person on the other end usually has no idea I'm in a car.

You do get alot more electronic gadgetry with the bluetooth option, a better bigger display and various other features I'm still discovering. It displays info from your cd changer, car diagnostics, statistics, the works. I test drove one Leon with and one without the bluetooth, def prefer it installed.

I went with the Bluetooth pack on my Leon Sport and it's a lot better than I expected - the info on the Seat website doesn't tell you half of what it does. Have a look at http://www.seat.co.uk/generator/su/uk/newLeon/site/safety/bluetooth/btcompatible.html for a list of compatible phones - the website indicates that it takes the contacts from the SIM card, however I store my numbers on phone memory and it picked them up without any problems (Nokia 6822).

The only concern I have is that the PIN for pairing devices is fairly simple to guess - and to change it needs to be via a dealer, so might be worthwhile asking the dealer to change the default PIN code to something more random if you're bothered about things like that.

I'm using a Samsung E900 and it worked great - except for the voice recognition NOT being very good at recognising 'STORE' (see my other thread)

I'll just add my two-penneth having had my TFSi for a couple of months now....
The whole phone works flawlessely with my Motorola V3, I get the phonebook complete and just to hear the, bing, as I sit down and it connects to my phone is a big grin ....
The voice recognition is great, I just need to be a bit clearer when dialling numbers directly, but to say "oh-one-six-two-five-blah-blah-blah... dial!" is another big grin.

The sound quality for people listening to you far exceeds what I expected also.
