Through VAG-Com. Look for someone local to you that will do it for beer money.

i'm sure some of the old school will remember TRAX 2005 where my car decided to auto lock whilst still running and i was standing outside the car. you can;t trust it, it has a mind of its own

Is auto-lock that really annoying thing that locks you out of the car, when it decides that it's randomly time to lock?
I'd like to deactivate that, whatever it is.

Yep - that's it. Should only lock from 5mph but has been known to play games.

It's also the source of great amusement as the passenger tries to rip your door handle off to get out.

Had mine disabled by the stealers when they were prepping the car for delivery.

I`ve tried to disable it but vag-com can`t access the control module (the 46 part) :(

To disable Auto Locks...

Turn on ignition, start VAG-COM,

Go to "Select control module" from the main menu,
Select "46 - Central conv"
Click on "Adaption - 10"
Press "Up" next to channel number and watch for "Auto Lock" at the top,
When found Auto Lock, set "New Value" to '0' from '1' click "Test" then "Save"
Press "Up" next to channel number and watch for "Auto Unlock" at the top,
When found Auto Unlock, set "New Value" to '0' from '1' click "Test" then "Save"
Then click "Done, Go Back"

Remove key from ignition - process complete.

You can, but it is illegal, just in case you have interfering neighbours or anything.

illegal, but my old mans freelander does it and so did my old fiats.

i always thought it was reginalised as i know in some european countries alarms have to flash the headlights when they go off ( which makes a lot of sense)

I'll have a agander when i get time to use vagcom on the car this weekend.

I think there are plenty of cars that do it, but that doesn;t make it legal
I would seriously doubt is regionalised, as UK law is 'pretty much' the same all over.
Can't honestly see anyone ever getting prosecuted for it, but in todays world, who really knows
