engine code is one way if vehicle isnt accessible

reg number may help - local factors/parts shop can log in to dvla for info

or look under the bonnet :)

    this is a 16v

Biggest give away is the boot spoiler 16v is alot nicer looking

pop the bonnet and the it should read SEAT DOHC 16v on the inlet manifold

16v also has a nice big intake , 8v only half fills the engine bay. 16v revs to just shy of 7k also.

They both have spoilers but the 16v has a little lip on it. But the most reliable way is to get the reg number and find out that way.

if the alloys haven't been changed then... if its got 16" Multi Spokes either white or silver then its a 16v, if it as 15" 5 spokes in silver its a 8v.

Thats only if the wheels haven't been changed.

Also on the front grille the 16v says GTi16v and the 8v says GTi.

Personally get about 30mpg driving on the motorway 80ish. 33mpg if driving 70ish. 22mpg giving it some stick round country roads. Definitely worth it as it gives me a huge grin on the face every time I put my foot down, and it helps taking your mind off the price of V-power.
