How does the mk4 ibiza handle in comparison to its rivals? Especially vts/cliosports.

I cannot make my mind up what to get, i want a super/turbocharged hatch so i can tune it when i get bored for more power, but i also want something that i can throw into corners and it loves it, i had a saxo as my first car and it wasn't fast but it was just so much fun round country lanes you could take corners at silly speeds and it just gripped and gripped. I relaly wanted a cliosport for ages, but they're just not very tuneable which is something i want from my car.

Now i've got a Yaris T sport which is much faster in a straight line but its not so good in the corners it rolls quite a bit and doesn't fill me with confidence like the old saxo did, i really miss my saxo purely for that even if it did nearly kill me once when the master cylinder failed and pissed the brake fluid out everywhere.

Other car i'm considering now is a mini cooper s

the handling ok, not as gud as saxo's tho but there little mods you can do which will sort it out, also ibiza understeer instead of the lift of over steer you get with saxo
    did have a saxo once.

whe i got the ibiza i had my m8 a race in is vtr he was like 10+ mph faster in corners then me

You cant realy put the FR/Cupra in the same class as a Saxo/106/Clio realy. The Saxo/106/Clio does will handle better then the Ibiza but the FR/Cupra is in a different league to the French stuff.

A few choice handling mods transform the Ibiza though. I have coilovers, Whiteline rear ARB, Seat Sport front strut brace and 20mm rear spacers and it handles like its on railes now. No Saxo/106/Clio can shake me off in the twistys but once we get onto a straight its bye bye frenchys :D

Had a modded VTS try it on the other night but he didn't last long ;)

If you want any info on the Cupra have a look in my thread mate (link in my sig below).
