HPFP Failure on early CR engine

Hi All,

Driving back to my house on Sunday my Leon decided to give up the ghost. The glow plug light came on and I slowly lost all power and luckily (as i had two babies in the back) managed to cruse it into a layby.

Got it dropped off at the garage by the AA and after 3 days and 4 new injectors I've just found out that the high pressure fuel pump has died throwing metal shards throughout my fuel system and leaving me with a dead car and already £500 down!

I've just done some googling and it turns out that this is a know problem with the early CR engines around 80/90K miles (https://globalnews.ca/news/3454109/...-repairs-after-high-pressure-fuel-pump-fails/)

I'm just wondering if anybody has had this same issue here and is it worth giving Seat a call and trying to get some help off them? I'm hoping with the current issues around emissions etc that they may give me some help as I don't fancy pumping another 2k into getting it fixed.
