Hybrid/ GTB mpg figures?

Hi,

I am trying to decide if I should go all out and get a GTB17 (not tubular mani tho) or go hybrid. I want around 220-240bhp.

Can people with either a hybrid or GTB list there Turbo, average MPG and power? (sounds silly i know but if one is better than the other significantly I would have to let mpg win as still my daily driver) Also is there any point asking which is better? Seems to be a 'new vs old' technology argument on most forums...

I am currently;

KKK ASZ - 55mpg ave - 184.4 bhp

Many thanks

I've had standard car,
pd160 hybrid turbo
gtb2256 hybrid

Power was
160
210 (Approx)
286

MPG has never really changed. I've always averaged 44mpg on all turbos. 60mpg is achievable on a run if you try, even with the big turbo

It is a common myth with TDIs, the more power you achieve the worse economy you will get. With a careful map and the right parts, there is no reason why at 270bhp you cannot have BETTER economy than at stock power.
This is basically because all the engine components are hardly even working when at lower load situations.

In all our cars, we experience excellent MPGs. The easiest direct comparison I can do is between my Jetta (300bhp+ - http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/jetta-mk5-2-0-16v-tdi-bkd/) and my Golf (170bhp - http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/golf-mk5-2-0-16v-tdi-bkd/).

I drive both on a regular basis, and when on a long journey, I choose the Jetta every time. I get around 50 more miles to a tank and I don't take it easy either.
