Hi All,
The boot on my daughters Ibiza doesn’t open, not with the handle. When I lock\unlock the car it doesn’t sound like the boot is locking. I have opened it from the inside and all the connections look clear and clean. Does anyone have any ideas? Is there a separate fuse for it ?

Here are some pics of the boot lock?

Hey Danny, im having the exact same issue as your daughter, or well my mother is. Not got to the bottom yet but hopefully someone can help and get us clued up. I have changed the locking mechanism, the seat S switch, spray the boot with water to check for water leaks = corrosion. As my.mom took it to seat a year ago and they said there was some corrosion, but jot sure 8f i by it now.looking back, as they jever provided an invoice and also my moms boots could miraculously come back to life and believe it may have been a lucky timing situation. Can I ask how old is the car battery in your daughters car?

For anyone with the same issue, this may solve your problem to all, in the end the car when back to seat. They rectified the problem. They said it was a broken wire. It appears the broken wire was inside the black connector block in the boot (as I said the one i did not know how to open). The technician said he has hard wired it now, so completely missed out the connector and crimp connected both ends. This has solved the problem for now. See pictures of before and after (repair).

Alittle annoying that I just needed to get into that black connector and I would of seen a broken wire, but even now I don't no how it is clipped together, but you live and learn and hopefully someone can show me how to open it lol.

Hi guys, I am new to this site. I hope I am correctly asking for advice & guidance in the correct way. I own a Seat Ibiza 1.4 sport 2009. I am also having problems with my boot that has stopped working. Assistance required. !!!!!

The boot on the car for no apparent reason has just stopped working. Using the key fob all the other doors operate perfectly (lock and unlock). Manually lifting the Seat logo on the rear boot - nothing seams to work. When using the key fob the mechanism is completely silent, so I purchased a new unit. I have removed the internal panel and reconnected the new mechanism. I tried the new part before actually fitting it onto the door, and this does not operate the lock.
Removing the internal panel reveals the plastic release arm - pushing this arm and the door releases.

I think I have tried everything to get the door to work. Manually released / opened the boot door, lubricated the catch, purchased a new boot lock mech. Can anyone advise as what could be the problem with the boot door lock or provide any guidance as to how I get it to work.

Many thanks in advance.
