Ibiza 6j Rev counter problem

Is it normal to have my revs at 1000 at all times even when in neutral? I saw another thread with the same problem on a Leon but can’t remeber how to fix it. Thanks in advance!!

Seems pretty normal. The engine usually idles at 1000rpm for faster heat up of catylic convertors and coolant, and should lower as you drive. Honestly, it depends on the engine design. My Ibiza FR idles at 1k when I first start it up, lowering to about 600 after a few minutes.
