Guys, I've been on e-bay looking at how much the brembo/wilwood/porsche calipers are selling for and they ain't too bad.

Only I am not too sure what will fit, I am running:

The offset is 37
PCD is 4x100
Tyre size is 215/40/R16

I have standard brakes at the moment with only 1,000 / 1,500 miles done on them but I will be looking to upgrade 'if' I keep my car.

I keep seeing calipers coming up like these and wonder if's just a case of getting custom mounts and bigger disks.

I was hoping you would answer/see this thread being the 'Don' when it comes to brakes.

Hmmmm ... back to the drawring board then.

Just seeing Porsche calipers going at a good price and then people selling universal mounting brackets on Ebay makes me think I could cheat the system and get a good set up ;)

Universal mounting brackets.... yep... seen them too.
Porka calipers (some of them, most common on flebay) are for porka disks.... and when you add the pads, shims, and see the disk swept area they require vs what available for your car you then realise you have something you cannot get bits for............and what started off as cheap on face value turns into a ball ache and special everything which is more expensive than buying the right thing in the first place.
Unless you are handy on a machine, and have access to a load of disks to modify you are going to be getting stressed & out of pocket.

Been thru this with a customer, who thought he got himself a bargain but NOTHING fitted his car, and disks were simply not available to suit.

beware is all I say.

Ok - Gonna stay away from these ideas ;)

Thanks Bill - saved me quite a bit of time and money there. I'll buy the 'Big Reds' when I have a 911 to fit them to with no probs
